A set of representative national youth studies conducted in South East Europe (SEE) between 2011 and 2015 reveals an alarming distrust of political institutions among young people and their dissatisfaction with the state of democracy. Being politically socialized in an environment of prolonged transition to democracy, youth in SEE have a conrvseative outlook and constitute an unwilling agent for supporting democratization.
