This development resulted, inter alia, in the adoption of the 1992 United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities and increased activities of the United Nations Working Group on Minorities; in the adoption of the 1990 Document of the Copenhagen Meeting of the Conference on the Human Dimension of the CSCE and the establishment of the office of the CSCE/OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities; and, within the Council of Europe, in the adoption of the 1992 European Charter on Regional or Minorities Languages and the 1995 Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities.
