That was followed by an elaboration of the EU enlargement process, examining if there is a clear EU prospect for the Western Balkans countries, highlighting developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Republic of Serbia. By researching the integration of the region, it was straightforward to observe that, despite the Thessaloniki Summit optimism when the Western Balkans countries were promised to join the union in near future, the process has been stacked. The actual developments are also examined, considering new momentum as an additional opportunity for the integration of the region to the EU.
