Volume: 88 pages, pdf
Description
The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of various factors affecting trade between Kosovo and the EU. The study contributes to the current policy debate on the trade relations between Kosovo and the EU, following the conclusion of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) negotiations. The EU uses the SAA mechanism to promote political, economic, trade, and human rights related reforms in the countries aiming at EU membership. In exchange, through trade liberalisation entailed in the SAA, the EU offers tariff-free access to its market, accompanied by technical and financial assistance. Hence, the major component of the SAA process is the negotiation of the trade liberalisation in goods, and partially in services.
