Description
This is the first survey we have conducted after the referendum on statehood issue, in which Montenegro has regained its independence. Furthermore, the referendum is the turning point, meaning that after it Montenegrin political scene cannot be the same ever again. The statehood issue that was in the focus both of the public and political parties was simply removed from the agenda by the referendum. Therefore, it is realist to expect that all political actors must turn to new issues, meaning they have to find different political focus, introduce different rhetoric, and move to different process of defining political goals, and to a certain extent even significantly different personnel policy. In parallel to this, citizens’ criteria in evaluating the political parties will be certainly different compared to previous period, and this will change the overall climate in the political life of the society, as well as the nature of communication between citizens and political structures. In this respect, this survey represents a quantitative overview of the current situation on political scene in Montenegro, simply because in it one can find the first post-electoral results treating key political issues in today’s Montenegro. Our basic objective was to measure current trends, in new political and social situation, and to put on the agenda (in analytical sense) some new political issues.
